Hi, nice to meet you! I’m Alyssa, a data scientist who turns messy, real-world data into clear, strategic decisions.

I’m currently a Research Technician at Caltech, where I analyze high-throughput single-cell data (~20,000 samples per run), built Python pipelines and automations that save my team hours each week, and co-authored a recently published preprint. I’m also completing my MS in Data Science at Boston University (December 2026) to build on the analytical work that I found I loved most through my research and use these skills to apply to broader industries.

I build statistical models, machine learning workflows, and visualizations in Python, R and SQL, using scikit-learn, Keras and the tidyverse. My background in molecular biology and ecological research gave me a strong foundation in experimental design and causal inference, allowing me to figure out not just what’s happening in the data, but why and what we can use to predict future outcomes.

I’m now looking for analytics and data science roles in media, entertainment and marketing, where I can help teams understand their audiences and make better decisions.

Outside of work, I make music and art, or recharge outdoors by hiking, skiing, sailing and diving.
